Why Headcases? : I’ve called Headcases my home for over 17 years. Of all the salons I’ve worked in this is the only one with a truly genuine team atmosphere. We support and encourage one another every day. I also love how much emphasis is placed on education- we’re constantly growing through new classes and industry shows that keep us inspired and motivated.

Specialties: Vivid hair colors, vintage styling (i.e. pin-up hairstyling), cutting curly hair, short hair styles

Experience: I began my hair career in 2000 at Tony & Guy. I was an AIT educator for TIGI in 2005. I’m a certified color correction specialist from Goldwell. In 2006 I attended an advanced cut and coloring class at Tony & Guy in NYC for 4 days of hands-on training with a NAHA (North American Hairdresser Award) recipient. I regularly attend Paul Mitchell classes to stay up to date with the current trends and techniques

What is your approach with new clients: I always make sure to have a thorough consultation regarding the past, present, and future of their hair. When did you like it best? What do you like/dislike about it now? Lastly, I always give a complete step-by-step on how to recreate the look you leave the salon with when you get home.

What makes you happy as a hairstylist? Seeing someone who comes in hating their hair and leaves loving it.

How would you sum up curly hair? Difficult! I’ve taken a lot of advanced education classes to learn how to cut and work with curls. I make it my goal that no one leaves with their hair looking like a pyramid shape! Curly hair is beautiful, and I love to help people fall in love with their hair

What would you tell someone who’s unsure about making a change to their hair? It’s just hair! My hair has been every color from platinum blonde to black. I’ve shaved 2/3 of it off, and worn it down past my shoulder blades. Hair is not permanent! A cut you don’t love will grow out, a hair color can be changed. That being said, I would never perform a chemical service that I felt would cause irreparable damage to your hair, or do a major cut after a breakup. I may send you home to think about a dramatic change, but I’m always excited to see you through the experience

What do you love the most about being a hairstylist? I get to spend my days chatting with amazing people and making them look/feel beautiful. Who wouldn’t love a job like that?
